BIO

 

Graydon Francis is a Liberian American singer/songwriter based in the Twin Cities. With a voice often compared to Luther Vandross, He joined the Grammy Award-winning "Sounds of Blackness" in 2016. Under the direction of Gary Hines,  Graydon expanded his abilities as an artist. Soon after, he joined  Bebe Zahara Benet,  winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season, as a background vocalist. 

In 2017 Graydon pursued a solo career and collaborated with St. Paul-based Liberian American artist, Tarli. Graydon was featured in a few of his songs on his latest Album called "Liberation" and was also in his Music Video "Come On", rated by City Pages as one of the year's best music videos. Through this collaboration, Graydon has performed in various festivals nationwide, such as the Melhaven Music Festival, Tequila and Taco Festival, and Jackson Indie Music Week in Jackson, Mississippi.

Graydon performed as a headliner at the “Concert at the Commons” in Minneapolis last summer. He was also one of the headlining performers at the Ice House along with Afrogeode and the Gemstones and Tarli last October. This year, He has also performed at the Bigturn music fest, The Midway Saloon, and the Selby Block Party.

Graydon also performs as a background vocalist for a music production titled “The Music of Gladys Knight and the Pips” led by MsArnise. This production has performed in numerous places throughout the Twin Cities such as the Freighthouse, The Chanhassen Dinner Theater and Crooners.

 Graydon Francis is redefining his sound with his upcoming afrobeat-inspired single release, "Ginger." Ginger is an upbeat song with an infectious melody and catchy hook scheduled for release on October 6 2023.
